The situation
Greene King runs thousands of pubs. But a pub doesn’t live or die on the brewery’s national brand — it lives on whether the people two villages over know it does a proper Sunday roast, has rooms upstairs, and is worth the drive.
Three of their Essex pubs needed to feel like themselves, not like franchise outposts: the Cricketers at Eight Ash Green, the Alma at Copford Green, and the Crown at Manningtree.
What we did
Photography that makes you stop the car
We shot the pubs — food, interiors, the warm bits that make someone driving past decide tonight’s the night. Proper commercial photography, not phone snaps under a fluorescent strip.
Illustration and print with a local accent
For the Alma at Copford Green we hand-drew a snow-covered view of the pub for its Christmas campaign, paired illustration with photography, and built menus and style guides so the look held together whoever was printing the next specials board.
The Crown got the full treatment
The Crown at Manningtree went further — a hand-drawn crown boat, a brand refresh and a rebuilt website the owners run themselves, with bookings straight from Booking.com. See the full Crown story.
The result
Pubs that look like the well-run, characterful places they are, with brand, imagery and booking the teams control day to day. National brewer behind the bar, village-pub soul out front.
When the name above the door is one of the biggest in the country, the job is making each pub feel like the only one that matters.
No sales pitch. No pressure. Just an honest conversation about where your business is and where you want to go.
