Photography · Colchester Commercial photography that understands your brand

NOT JUST A PHOTOGRAPHER. A PHOTOGRAPHER WHO THINKS LIKE A MARKETER.

Most commercial photographers take great photos. What they can't do is art-direct a shoot around a brand strategy, optimise images for web performance, design the brochure they'll appear in, and build the website that showcases them. Nick Ridley does all of that — because Thinksay isn't a photography studio that dabbles in marketing. It's a marketing agency with a founder who is a commercial photographer.

Why agency photography is different

When you hire a standalone photographer, you get beautiful images. When you hire Thinksay, you get images that are art-directed for your brand, shot for your specific marketing channels, and delivered ready for web, print and social media — because the photographer is also your designer, your web developer and your marketing strategist.

  • Every image is composed with your brand guidelines in mind
  • Shots are planned for specific placements (website hero, social grid, brochure spread)
  • Files are delivered in the right formats, resolutions and aspect ratios for every channel
  • No awkward briefing process — the photographer already knows your brand inside out

Already a Thinksay client? Photography is included.

Here's something our clients love: because photography is part of our full-service offering, we can include a shoot as part of a website or brand project — no separate supplier, no separate brief, no separate invoice.

When we build your website, we can photograph your products, your premises, your team and your work as part of the same project. The images are shot specifically for the layouts we've designed, which means they fit perfectly — no cropping stock photos and hoping for the best.

Common questionsGOOD TO KNOW
Do you have a studio?
We have access to studio space for product and portrait work, and we shoot on location across Colchester, Essex and East Anglia. For product photography, we can also set up a temporary studio at your premises if that's more practical.
How quickly do I get my images?
Typically within 5–7 working days. Rush turnarounds are available for an additional fee. If the images are part of a website build, they're delivered as part of the project timeline.
Can you photograph people? What about model releases?
Yes — corporate portraiture and team photography are a core part of what we do. We handle model release forms for any images used in marketing materials. For school photography, we follow strict safeguarding protocols.
Do I own the images?
You receive a full commercial usage licence for all delivered images — website, social media, print, advertising, everything. Copyright remains with the photographer (standard practice), but you'll never be charged again to use your own images.
