The situation

Goldstones is a family-run shooting ground on Furze family farmland in rural North Essex, with over a century of history behind it. The trouble was simple: search for them online and you found nothing. The site had been offline for years, and the brand materials they did have were dated and inconsistent.

For a business that lives on bookings — shooting enthusiasts, corporate groups, countryside visitors — being invisible online was costing them real enquiries. They needed a digital home that matched the quiet confidence of the place itself, and one they could keep updated without calling us every time.

What we did

A modern, easy-to-update website

We mapped out a clean structure — Home, About, Shoots, Packages, Accommodation, Gallery, Contact — and built it as a fast, focused website. Every page loads quickly and the layout stays out of the way of strong countryside imagery. Just as important, the site was built so the team can update shoot dates, packages and photos themselves. No technical know-how needed.

A logo and brand refresh

The old logo needed bringing up to date. We refreshed it with earthy greens, soft browns and a subtle gold note that honours the estate’s character without leaning on cliché. New palette, refined type, and a mark that holds up across the website, print and outdoor signage alike.

Copy and local SEO

We wrote the copy in a voice that suits the business — understated, knowledgeable, genuinely welcoming. Then we did the local SEO groundwork and set up a Google Business Profile so Goldstones shows up in relevant searches across Essex and East Anglia.

The result

The relaunch ended years of digital absence. Booking enquiries started arriving through the new contact form, and the Google Business Profile began driving local visibility. After making do with whatever was to hand, Goldstones finally had one cohesive identity — and a site they own and can keep current themselves.

For a family business on land that’s been in the same hands for generations, having a site that tells that story well makes a genuine commercial difference.
